Who we are
Altira Ltd, a company registered in Jersey, trading as Dinner Fairy, is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at hello@dinnerfairy.com.
What we collect and why
- Account details (email address, display name, profile photo, language and time zone) — to create and secure your account and sign you in. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Household and preference details (number of adults and children, appliances, allergies, dietary preferences, requests, saved recipes and meal plans) — to generate and store your meal plans. Legal basis: performance of our contract. Allergy and dietary information may be health related; we process it because you choose to provide it so we can tailor plans, and you can delete it at any time.
- Sharing details (email addresses and phone numbers you add as recipients, household invitations) — to deliver plans you ask us to send. Legal basis: performance of our contract and our legitimate interest in providing the sharing feature.
- Usage and technical data (device and browser information, IP address, error and performance logs) — for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting and improving the product. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
- Support messages — to answer your questions. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Who we share it with
- Paddle.com — our reseller and Merchant of Record, for sales, subscription management, payments, invoicing and tax compliance.
- Service providers — hosting, database, email delivery and AI model providers who process data on our behalf under contract. Meal plan inputs (household preferences and requests) are sent to AI providers to generate plans; they are not used to train their models.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting, where necessary.
- Authorities — where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Some providers are located outside Jersey, the UK and the EEA. Where data is transferred, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, household and plan data for as long as your account is active. Deleting your profile removes your household, plans, saved recipes and sharing settings. Limited records required for legal, tax or fraud-prevention purposes are retained by us or Paddle for as long as the law requires; other data is deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on it. You can also complain to the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (or your local supervisory authority in the UK/EEA). Email us and we will respond within one month.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and row-level database permissions so that only you and people you invite to your household can read your data.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your language, household setup and current plan. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear this data through your browser settings, though signing in will be required again.
